IncLUsion
Supports students at risk
Are you currently seeking asylum in the Netherlands and do you have an academic background? You’re in the right place. The IncLUsion initiative makes it possible for refugees who are not (yet) able to register as students within the Dutch education system to follow courses at Leiden University. Admission
If you have any questions about IncLUsion, please send a mail to: inclusionstudents@sea.leidenuniv.nl
Qualifications
The IncLUsion programme is intended for refugees who are unable to register on regular study programmes. Priority is given to applicants who have not yet been granted a Dutch residence permit. You must have previously followed university-level education and have a good command of academic English (approx. CEFR C1 level).
Procedure
Submit your application via this online application form.
Note that IncLUsion can only process a limited number of applications each semester. Once the maximum number has been reached, the application form will close.
Limited places: detailed application
There are limited places available and decisions on admission are based solely on the information you provide in your application form. Therefore, when applying, make sure to provide full details of your previous education, motivation for applying, and whether you need assistance in covering travel costs. Incomplete or inaccurate applications will result in missed opportunities. After submitting your application form, it is not possible to submit additional information to support your application.
After applying
IncLUsion receives a large number of applications each semester, which means we have to make a selection. Selection is based on your abilities and where you live. If you meet all criteria, you will either be directly admitted, or invited for an interview to verify that your academic background and English are sufficient to successfully follow courses. After admission, you will be invited to indicate which of the available courses you would prefer to follow.
Note: decisions on admission are final and cannot be contested.
Academic Transfer
Accepts transfer credit.
