The QualifyING project is a cooperation project of Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, TH Agricola Bochum and TH OWL. In a one-year programme, engineers with a refugee background who have completed their studies in their home country are requalified at universities and in partner companies. The aim is to prepare students as comprehensively as possible for the German labour market and to obtain a certificate awarded by the universities. The project is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science (MKW).

Qualification programme preparing for the German labour market

For a successful application, the following requirements must be met: Completed studies in one of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering architecture earth sciences Surveying engineering Mechanical engineering Electrical engineering Mechatronics or other related courses in the field of engineering one of the following language certificates: Telc B2 Goethe B2 TestDAF 12 points DSH-1 Note: If you're not yet at this level of language proficiency, you may have the opportunity to take a German language course beforehand. Please apply anyway! refugee status if applicable If you would like to participate in our program, please submit the following documents: Application form (please download and complete) Copy of your degree certificate and transcript of records (translated into German or English) current language certificate Motivation form (please download and complete) Copy of residence status (and work permit) Proof of recognition as an engineer (if available) by email with the subject Application QualifyING to: ananya.nagendran(at)th-owl.de We are currently happy to accept your application and place you on our waiting list. Due to the pending project approval, we are unfortunately unable to provide any information on when the next round will begin. We anticipate the next round will begin in the summer semester of 2026.
