University Guarantee Fund

With the Federal Programme Guarantee Fund for Higher Education, we support you if you have immigrated and want to obtain a higher education entrance qualification in Germany, continue a course of study you started in your country of origin, or start a course of study. We support language courses, courses, and colleges leading to higher education entrance qualifications, as well as courses preparing for college or specialized studies. You and your family members are eligible for funding, for example, if you belong to the group of ethnic German repatriates. Young refugees (up to the age of 30) and those granted asylum are also eligible for funding, along with your spouses and children who are joining you.

You are eligible if you are under 30 years of age and belong to the following groups: Late repatriates (§ 4 BVFG) their spouses and descendants (Section 7 (2) BVFG) other family members (Section 8 (2) BVFG) Spouses of those entitled under the Federal Residence Act (BVFG) (Section 28 (1) Sentence 1 No. 1 Residence Act) recognized asylum seekers (Section 25 (1) Residence Act) their spouses and children (Section 29 (2) and (3), 30, 32, 34 and 36a Residence Act) Refugees (Section 25 (2) Residence Act) or persons with subsidiary protection (Sections 3 (1) or 4 (1) Asylum Act) their spouses and children (Section 29 (2) and (3), 30, 32, 34 and 36a Residence Act) Persons with a residence permit pursuant to Sections 22, 23 and 24 of the Residence Act their spouses and children (Section 29 (2) and (3), 30, 32, 34 and 36a Residence Act)
