The scholarship supports Foundation, Diploma or Undergraduate study for students who are holders of a temporary or bridging visa and are seeking asylum in Australia. The Asylum Seeker Fee Waiver Sponsorship is designed to support people seeking asylum who are otherwise unable to access Commonwealth Supported Places or government loan schemes to support their study at university.

Qualifications
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: Be a holder of a bridging or temporary visa and be currently seeking asylum in Australia. Receive a full offer of admission to study a foundation or diploma course, and/or an undergraduate degree at Macquarie University. Intend to take up the scholarship in the year it is offered. Have demonstrated financial need via submission of a UAC Equity Scholarship application. Submit a personal statement outlining their commitment to study and how this scholarship will benefit them. Provide a letter of reference from someone they have known for at least 12 months. Be willing to attend an interview.
Procedure
Application for this scholarship can be made by completing the online Macquarie University Scholarship Application form. Academic Transfer
Accepts transfer credit.
