The Federal University of Santa Maria, through the Dean's Office of Undergraduate Studies, PROGRAD, announces that from October 18, 2024, to November 28, 2024, registrations will be open for the Selection Process for Admission of Refugees and Immigrants in Vulnerable Situations at UFSM 2025. The goal is to fill 119 (one hundred and nineteen) vacancies in 75 undergraduate courses at this University for admission in 2025, according to UFSM Resolution No. 125, dated April 19, 2023. Individuals admitted through this notice will be enrolled in the first or second semester of 2025, according to the availability of vacancies (1st/2025 or 2nd/2025), following the initial recommended sequence of courses for each program.

Qualifications
6.1 The selection criteria are directly related to proof of refugee status or immigrant in a vulnerable situation. If the number of applicants exceeds the vacancies provided in item 2 of this Notice, PROGRAD will adopt selection criteria in the following order of priority: I – Older age, according to the sole paragraph of art. 27 of Law No. 10,741/03 (Statute of the Elderly); II – Socioeconomic analysis. According to Law No. 13,184/2015, the candidate who proves a family income of less than 10 (ten) minimum wages will be classified, or the lowest family income if more than one candidate meets the initial criterion. Candidates must inform their family income at the time of registration. III – Waiting list. 6.2 The Preliminary Result will be published on the Selection Process's website. 6.3 Appeals to the Preliminary Result can be made to the committee specifically constituted for the analysis of appeals and distinct from the initial documentation analysis committee within 2 (two) business days after the Preliminary Result is published. The appeal request, with the proper justification, should be sent to the email falecom@nisa.ufsm.br. 6.4 If the analysis mentioned in the previous item is negative, an appeal can be made to the Council of Teaching, Research, and Extension - CEPE/UFSM, within 48 hours of receiving the result.
Procedure
Registration is done exclusively online, on the website of the Selection Process for Admission of Refugees and Immigrants in Vulnerable Situations at UFSM 2025 (https://www.ufsm.br/pro-reitorias/prograd/ingresse-na-ufsm/refugiados-e-migrantes) from October 18, 2024, to November 28, 2024. 1º) Personal Data: The candidate must provide, if necessary, the Social Name (according to UFSM Resolution No. 010/2015), foreign candidate (Yes or No), passport number, Foreigners National Registry (RNE) number, gender, date of birth, marital status, mother's name, ethnicity, nationality, place of birth, and city of birth. Observation 1: The full name and CPF are automatically filled in according to the data provided in the Portal Gov.br.Observation 2: If the candidate uses the Social Name, they must provide the pronoun to be used and, if under 18 years old, attach Authorization for the use of the Social Name issued and signed by the person defined as their Legal Guardian. 2º) Contact Information: The candidate must provide the state of residence, city of residence, type of street, street name, number, neighborhood, ZIP code, and additional address information. The email address and phone number are automatically filled in according to the data provided in the Portal Gov.br.3º) Additional Information: The candidate must provide the per capita family income range in minimum wages (considering the national minimum of R$ 1,412.00). According to Law No. 13.184 of 2015, the Gross Monthly Family Income will be used as a tie-breaking criterion. In this item, the candidate must attach, in PDF format, mandatorily, in a single file, one or more of the following documents, front and back, with all information legible: I – For Refugees: Documentation proving refugee status, issued by CONARE, for the applicant in refugee status, in PDF format; II – For Refugee Applicants: Refugee application protocol issued by the Federal Police, in PDF format, and a vulnerability declaration filled out and signed (available in Annex 1 of this Notice), also in PDF format, without prejudice to the complete presentation of documentation to compete later in the Socioeconomic Benefit and/or Student Housing access notices; III – For Humanitarian Welcome Immigrants: National Migration Registry Card or Document.IV – For Immigrants who do not fall under Humanitarian Welcome: National Migration Registry Card or Provisional National Migration Registry Document (DPRNM), in PDF format, accompanied by a filled and signed vulnerability declaration (available in Annex 1 of this Notice), also in PDF format, without prejudice to the complete presentation of documentation to compete later in the notices of Socioeconomic Benefit and/or Access to Student Housing; V – Proof of studies equivalent for admission to Higher or Technical Education, considering the provisions of Art. 4º §1º of Resolution 041/2016/UFSM, in PDF format; VI. CPF; VII. Declaration of Veracity of Information and Authenticity of Documents Presented (available in Annex 2 of this Notice). 4º) Course: The candidate must indicate a single and definitive course option according to item 3 of this Notice. Observation: Candidates for Physical Education courses (Bachelor's or Licentiate) must attach a Medical Certificate of physical fitness (in PDF format), duly instructed, including the professional's registration number in the CRM and date (issued in the last 12 months). The certificate must state that the candidate is FIT FOR PHYSICAL EXERTION. e) Check the declaration stating that you are aware that the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) will process your personal data for selection purposes and, in case of approval, for the procedures related to your admission, in accordance with Law No. 13,709, of 2018, General Data Protection Law (LGPD); f) Verify and confirm the information provided. If there is any error, return to the previous page and make the adjustment; g) Check the declaration of awareness stating compliance with the requirements and rules of the competition specified in this Notice; 4.3.4 After completing the forms, the system will load the registration form page, where the registration data will be displayed. The candidate must CHECK ALL THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THE REGISTRATION FORM.
