Sir Robert Jones Refugee Daughters’ Scholarship

The Sir Robert Jones Refugee Daughters’ Scholarship assists young women from refugee backgrounds to complete a university degree or tertiary qualification from an approved tertiary institution. *Tuition fees will be paid in full through to degree attainment, subject to satisfactory progress being made each year towards completion of the degree. University hostel accommodation will be paid for two years of study if the student is required to attend a tertiary institution outside their home town.

Young women from refugee backgrounds who are:
Aged 18-25 years
A permanent resident or citizen of New Zealand
Already studying at a New Zealand university or tertiary institution
In financial and/or personal hardship

Students must upload the following documents:
An INZ immigration document which confirms your refugee- background status.
Proof of your NZ permanent residency or citizenship.
Your school or university academic records*.
Your university results for Semester 1*.
Your letter from StudyLink confirming your Student Allowance*.
An academic reference, preferably written by a lecturer or tutor.
A character reference, written by a respected person in the community.
A letter of application, written by you, telling the selectors about your personal and academic journey, your goals and aspirations, your financial and/or personal hardship circumstances and why you should be awarded this scholarship.
* Please check the application portal for specific years.
Academic Transfer
Accepts transfer credit.
