The Department of Social Work at the Cologne location of the Catholic University of Applied Sciences North Rhine-Westphalia (katho) has been offering additional study places for people with refugee experience in the Bachelor's degree programme in Social Work since the winter semester 2016/2017. The degree programme in Social Work prepares you for professional action in the fields of social work. The lecturers at katho in Cologne will provide you with scientifically sound theoretical knowledge from the subject of social work and the subjects that are relevant for social work activities. In addition, you will acquire the necessary skills in the courses and the practical phases. The Bachelor's degree programme is a full-time face-to-face programme. In the fifth semester, you will complete a practical phase of 100 days, which is accompanied by seminars and supervision. In the sixth semester, you will write your Bachelor's thesis.
