Information for asylum seekers

The prerequisite for admission to a Bachelor's or diploma course at the University of Vienna is a school-leaving certificate or a degree of at least three years' duration. To be admitted to a Master's course, you must have completed a relevant degree. You need your documents in the original or as a certified copy. If you no longer have your school leaving certificate or your degree certificate, you can apply for a replacement certificate from the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) . Admission is not possible without a school leaving certificate or degree certificate. For documents that are not issued in German or English, you also need a court-certified translation. Your documents do not need to be diplomatically certified , regardless of the country of issue. Instead, proof of status as a recognized refugee/asylum seeker is required (e.g. Convention passport, etc.). You can apply for admission online on the student platform u:space . This is only possible within the application deadlines . The University of Vienna conducts admission procedures for certain courses . There is an aptitude test for teacher training courses. You can apply for admission to these bachelor's and diploma courses once a year (in spring). While the admission procedures only apply for the following winter and summer semesters, the aptitude test is valid indefinitely. For the Bachelor's degree in Sports Science (and the subject of Physical Education and Sport), you must successfully complete the entrance examination to prove your sporting aptitude. The entrance examination takes place twice per academic year (before the respective winter or summer semester) and is valid for four semesters. To be admitted to the subject of Physical Education and Sport, you must also successfully complete the aptitude test for the Bachelor's degree in Teaching.
