SUSILA DHARMA AUSTRALIA REFUGEE SCHOLARSHIP
Supports students at risk
Susila Dharma Australia is committed to helping alleviate the barriers faced by refugees and asylum seekers in the pursuit of higher level education and career development. This scholarship provides financial assistance for those enrolled to study in a tertiary institution on a full time basis. No more than three (3) applicants will be selected to receive a scholarship. Each successful applicant will receive $3000.

Qualifications
To be eligible, you must satisfy all of the following 3 criteria:
1. Study and reside in Australia
2. Be from a refugee or asylum seeker background Evidenced by the recipient holding a current or past temporary or permanent visa for refugees or people seeking asylum. The specific visa classes eligible will remain flexible as Government policy changes, and may include but are not limited to Temporary Protection Visa, Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV), Bridging Visa or a permanent humanitarian visa.
3. Be enrolled to study at a tertiary institution The course must be: full time, and at least 1 year duration. The scholarship will not be awarded to anyone with less than 1 year remaining in their degree
OBLIGATIONS AS A SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT
Recipients must
1. Maintain full-time enrolment and provide evidence of their ongoing enrolment each semester
2. Maintain a minimum of pass average and provide evidence of this to Susila Dharma Australia each semester
3. Agree to their academic progress being made known to the scholarship sponsors / donors if required
Procedure
Before you submit your application, please ensure that you:
☐ Provide a valid email address - this is how you will be notified of the outcome of your application
☐ Complete each section of the application form
☐ Sign the declaration
☐ If you are aged under 18yo, has your parent/guardian also signed the declaration
☐ Attach a copy of your visa
☐ Attach a copy of your Australian citizenship certificate or permanent residency visa, if applicable
☐ Attach evidence of recent grades
☐ Attach evidence of your offer to study in a recognised tertiary institution
☐ Provided the referee form to your nominated referee (this should not be a family member)
If you have ticked all the above then your application is ready to submit.Application process Complete this form and return it along with a copy of your visa and any other required documents. Return by email to: sd.chair@subud.org.au Applications open Thursday 22nd February 2024 Applications close Friday 22nd March 2024 You will be advised of the outcome by the end of April 2024. The Scholarship Committee will decide on the recipient of the scholarship based on consideration of the information and supporting evidence in this application. The decision of the Scholarship Committee is final. Late applications will not be considered. The scholarship cannot be deferred.
