Vice Chancellor’s Humanitarian Scholarship

Supports students at risk

The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist students holding one of the classes of visa listed in Appendix 1 to commence or continue their studies at The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle and Sydney Campuses. a) The value of the Scholarship will be the cost of the student’s tuition fees for the duration of their studies. b) The number of Scholarships awarded each year will be at the discretion of the Vice Chancellor, with a maximum of 10 students (commencing and continuing students) holding scholarships across the University in any one academic year.

Admission
The Selection Committee for the Scholarship will be staff from the University, and nominated Scholarship recipients must be approved by the Vice Chancellor. In determining the recipient of the Scholarship, the Selection Committee may consider: a) Financial need; b) Personal qualities and motivation; c) Community service; and d) Academic merit.
Qualifications
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must: a) Be from a refugee or asylum seeker background as evidenced by the applicant holding one of the classes of visa listed in Appendix 1 which permits the recipient to undertake tertiary studies in Australia; and b) Have been offered a place or be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate bachelor program or in the Tertiary Pathway Program at The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle or Sydney Campus. Students holding one of the following classes of visa are eligible for the Scholarship: a) Asylum Seeker on Bridging Visa Type A b) Asylum Seeker on Bridging Visa Type E (with no limitation on study) c) Temporary Protection Visa d) Safe Haven Enterprise Visa e) Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa f) Resolution of Status Visa Please note: this list is subject to change and will be updated as required.
Academic Transfer
Accepts transfer credit.
